Amazing illustrations from Asia are getting together.
Maybe the best asian illustrators portal I've ever seen. Highly recommended!
Lots of good shit.
A tremedously rich source of articles and links to artists either working in Asia or of Asian descent living elsewhere.
If you like the mix on Lines and Colors, and Drawn!, I think you'll appreciate the nice stwe of styles , genre and approaches in contemporary Asian art that the blogs' creators, Josef Lee and Sam Lay. are constantly cooking up.
Kinda like Drawn! but focusing on one continent where alot of exciting things are happening.
A great site for keeping up with new artists in Asia. I have been blown away by the quality and diversity of style of the artists they feature.
Lovely stuff
This is seriously the place to visit if you have any remotest interest in art and illustration.
an Asian drawing portal that seriously rocks

Awtar Singh Virdi
Guinness World Record Holder for the World’s Largest Anamorphosis Portrait
Writing by Josef Lee on 31 Mar 2008 5:39 AM
Awtar Singh Virdi

Awtar Singh Virdi, a world renowned artist and painter from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand India, has found a place in the Guinness Book of Records by making the world’s Largest Anamorphosis Portrait of the U.S President Mr. George W.Bush (measuring 10ft X 10ft) in 2004, and is the world's only artist available for Anamorphosis Portraits.

'Anamorphosis' is a technique of viewing objects through an unconventional and direct medium. In this technique, when we see the drawing directly, it appears meaningless and some sort of distortion or unrecognizable odd strokes. But when it is seen through appropriate medium like a round mirror or cylindrical mirror, then the distorted image will start to take its original shape and size and reflects as a perfect figure.

Awtar Singh Virdi is believed to be the ONLY living exponent for this kind of art and he has been perusing this art for over 45 years. This is after 400 years when Leonardo Da-Vinci first and last achieved it in the 16th century.

It all began 45 years ago when Virdi saw his distorted reflection in a car and felt like painting it, unaware that it was an art form. His first portrait was that of a nude woman. He has since gone on to capture the images of more than 40 portraits of distinguished personalities like Mother Teresa, Ravindra Nath Tagore, Shubhash Ch. Bose, Swami Viveka Nand, Saint Asaramji, J.R.D. Tata, George W Bush (Sr), George W Bush (Jr), Shri Atal Behri Vajpai, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Amitabh Bachchan, Kalpana Chawla, Sachin Tendulkar and Rabindranath Tagore, etc.

The Little Book of Hindu Deities

Ghee Happy (a brand that celebrates Indian/Hindu mythologies and culture through design and storytelling in a fun and charming way) has published The Little Book of Hindu Deities, a 144 pages fun guide to all your favourite Hindu Gods, from the Goddess of Wealth to the Sacred Cow.

Ghee Happy is the pet project of Sanjay Patel, an animator and storyboard artist at Pixar Animation Studios. He was born in England and raised in L.A. but has never been to India.

Sanjay is not Asian. But his source of inspiration definitely flowed from the East.
